Who we are
BusBuddy provides live school bus and van tracking for schools, drivers and parents. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address and phone number.
- Child details added by a parent: name, assigned vehicle and home pickup address or coordinates.
- Live vehicle location shared by a driver only while a trip is running.
- Attendance records, trip history and driver traffic messages.
- Basic technical data such as device type and error logs.
How we use it
To show the vehicle on a live map to permitted parents and school administrators, to record attendance, to keep trip history, to enforce plan limits and to keep accounts secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use children's data for advertising.
Who can see what
Parents see only vehicles they joined with a code and only their own children. Drivers see the children assigned to their vehicle. School administrators see the vehicles they created. Access is enforced at the database level.
Location data
Driver location is shared only while the driver has location sharing switched on. It is stored so parents can view the trip and history, and is retained according to the school's plan (24 hours to 30 days).
Payments
Card payments are handled by Razorpay. We never see or store card details; we store only the plan, billing cycle and payment reference.
Your rights
You can view and edit your details on the profile page, delete children you added, and request full account deletion by contacting your school administrator or emailing us.
